Weathervane Quilt

So, I probably shouldn't admit this, but I am starting a new quilt.  For this quilt I am using my 500 Quilt Blocks book by Lynne Goldsworthy and Kerry Green.

All I can think is SPRING!  Spring flowers, spring weather, spring warmth.  The only view from the window is snow and more snow, this girl is over winter.  The weatherman says there is more snow on the way.  Not the news I wanted.

Still a huge fan of this book, highly recommend.

For this quilt I am going to use the weathervane block.  The block is 12 inches square finished.

Although, I am using variation one.

Here are all the squares cut and ready to go!

On a side note, my roommate got older, so I whipped up a cake.  She only likes pink with sprinkles.  Ta da!

Lots of pink lots of sprinkles.

Lets just say it was as good as it looks.

Happy sewing and happy eating!

Sew long for now,

CHELS

  2. Lovely bright colours, we haven't had any snow, just lots and lots of rain and high winds! Your cake looks delicious, it's made me hungry now!

  4. What beautiful colors! I can't wait for spring. But we have been getting snow and that is great for our farmers, so I won't complain. That looks like a fun book. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
