Jelly Roll Race Finished

This past weekend while having too much fun relaxing with friends for Memorial Day, I was able to get this jelly roll race quilt bound.  This quilt has been waiting around since March to get finished.  Oops!  Although, I am happy with the final product.  The quilt got a scrappy binding and an all over stipple for the top-quilting.  My friend's sister laid claim before it was even finished.  I will spare her the embarrassing picture of her all wrapped up like a burrito, but you can enjoy the visual.

We also got to hang out with these crazy kids posing all nice for the camera!  All in all the weekend was a huge success.

Sew long for now,

  1. Love the simplicity of the JRR quilt! Beautiful colors and the added white squares gives the quilt an extra pop. The scrappy boarder was the perfect choice :)

  3. Such pretty colours. What a lovely finish. And....you've gotta thank anyone that will hold your completed quilt for you while wearing thongs (aka flip flops for non-Australians).

  4. This is such a fun and clever way to use a jellyroll! The little white squares add nice movement and space for visual rest. Love it. Also, holy cow, you seem to be cranking out quilts and blocks like nobody's business!

  5. I really like the small square between each strip in this, Chels. I've seen a million jelly roll race quilts, but yours stands out for the detail and makes it a lot more interesting!

  11. I'm glad your Memorial Day involved quilting. I really like how the white squares that you added to the quilt break up all the colors, and I'm glad the quilt immediately found someone to love it.

  12. The quilt is lovely. I really like the white squares. Sounds like you really have a great system for your scraps. I'm trying to get on top of a new system so I can easily put together scrappy quilts to use up my scrap fabrics.

  14. I really like the white squares! Hate I missed the burrito! I have so many starts racing through my head right now that my Aviatrix top is finished. Do I just start quilting or piecing,, quilting or piecing? Sigh.s

  16. I like the little squares in the jellyroll quilt. I hadn't seen that before, which adds to the quilt. The picture of the kiddos reminds me of school photos gone wrong.

  18. I did a Jelly Roll Race quilt months ago and haven't finished quilting it!!! I didn't do the inserts of the White blocks but want to on my next one... this does inspire me to get going on mine as I have way too many WIP's. I could probably free up a lot of space if I finished the ones I have going instead of starting another! Mine did not come out as great... love your color/jelly roll selection!
