One of "Those" Weeks

The past week has been a no-production kinda week. I have been sick, but as a teacher it's more work to stay home then it is to actually go in and teach. So, I have been going to work, and then going to bed at 6 p.m. This little sick spell has drastically cut into my sewing and blog reading time.  Putting me very behind in everything.

Now, it's Sunday and I have nothing to blog about, so I sewed up my last two charity blocks for our guild. Minimal production, but something. If you are getting comments on your posts from two weeks ago, I am also trying to read through my Bloglovin' feed.  Can I read 300+ posts in one day??? It's going to be a blog marathon. Hopefully, I can get some sewing time in later so I will have projects to blog about later this week.  Being sick is the pits.

Also, how do you like my new background? They are super easy to make, just purchase 2 - 2' square boards (I got these at Lowes) and painted each side for a total of 4 different colors. I was getting tired of with my white backgrounds and this was a cheap fix.  I used up some left over paint.  This color is actually the Pantone color of the year! You can also see my new chalkboard, my old one is traveling. If you would like to host the traveling chalkboard let me know!

  2. Wow, good luck getting through the big backlog of reading! I took some time off last week and decided to just start over - I didn't have the energy to go back through everything. I love the idea of your background and having multiple colors to choose from! :)

  3. Ugh -- I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick. You're such a trooper, though. I go into complete shut-down mode when I'm sick!

I think the new backgrounds are great (as, of course, are you blocks!). Actually, your pics in general are fabulous, and I've been meaning to ask about the contraptions you use for outside pictures of full-size quilts. I would love to pick your brain on how to improve my pics!

  4. Love the background idea! I'm limited by what I've got in my apartment, because my laziness won't allow for other options. I like seeing what motivated people can do!

  5. Haha! I was admiring your radiant orchid background and wondering how you managed to hold the blocks up against a pretty coloured wall. Clever!
I hope you feel better soon.

  10. I was wondering if it was a new chalkboard :) That's a great idea for new backgrounds! I feel your pain with the no pictures, no blog posts. It's annoying when it's time to blog, but you don't actually have anything. But remember, enjoy your quilting; blogging comes second :)

  14. Hope you're feeling better soon. Yes, I've noticed some comments on some of my older posts. Kudos to you for trying to even catch up. When I get that far behind, I skim the headlines and then just start over. I've not been sick and haven't been productive for the last few weeks. I've lost my sewing mojo. Hope it comes back soon!

  15. Love the backgrounds! Brilliant idea, and I'm totally borrowing it, if you don't mind. I solemnly promise to let the world know of your genius!

And I like the chalkboard too. What a fun idea!

Sorry you've been sick. That's the worst. Hope you are feeling better soon.

  17. Love the new background and total styling, of course! Small block accomplishments while you're sick are worthy of gold stars, so kudos to you! Just keep truckin', and try to shake it off as soon as you can!

  18. My husband is a teacher and I totally hear you on the "it's more work to call in sick" thing. He says the same thing. Those blocks look great and I love your backgrounds. I think I'll need to give that a go myself. Thanks for the idea.
