More HST for Quilt Along

Another update on the NHMQG HST Quilt Along. As of now I am half way done with 15 blocks completed. It's never been a secret that I despise squaring half square triangles, so I am not sure why I agreed to this quilt. Although these are not my typical colors I am loving them more and more.

Before this picture I was thinking these blocks don't need sashing. After seeing all them all laid out, they definitely need sashing! Guess I will be changing my plans.

  1. Squaring HSTs is soooo time consuming, but so worth the extra effort. Your blocks look amazing! I think the colors together are fantastic and this is going to be such a calm quilt - one you will want to cuddle under as soon as you see it. So pretty!

  2. I'm a little wary of triangles too and I don't have half your skill so I can understand the reluctance but it is totally worth it! Those blocks are gorgeous- even if they really will need sashing!

  3. You need to get June Tailor's half square ruler for squaring up HSTs. It makes it so much easier and bearable. http://smile.amazon.com/June-Tailor-Perfect-Quarter-Triangle/dp/B001TL2JIA/ref=sr_1_17?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1432512613&sr=1-17
