New Addition + Birthday Giveaway

Say hello to the newest giraffe in the herd! Last year I purchased the book Itty-Bitty Toys with the hope my Grandmother would make me this giraffe! And ... she did! Happy Birthday to me. She used Knit Picks yarns, and he is very soft. He also has beads in his bottom to give him weight and make him sit correctly, there are also weights in his hoofs. I am surprised at how well he sits independently.

Here is the challenge: this little fellow has yet to be named. So the person who comes up with the winning name (can be either girl or boy name) wins this assortment of fabric. They are all about a fat eighth, give or take. Perfect for a mini quilt, in yellow, coral, grey, and green. Get thinking everyone!
Giveaway closes July 9th, winner announced July 10th :)

For my U.S. readers, enjoy the 4th of July weekend in the U.S. and for all my overseas friends just enjoy the weekend :) Anything exciting going on?

  9. Your grandmother did a superb job on this little friend!
If you decide it's a girl, I'd name her Dot or Dottie.
If you decide it's a boy, I'd name him Alto (Spanish for tall).
Whatever you call your friend, I'm sure s/he will always bring a smile!

  16. Happy Birthday! I offered the name "Selvage" to Michelle for her new puppy. I don't think she's going to take it, so maybe your giraffe will benefit from her loss! If not, I'd go with Perle. Double meaning if you think the cotton thread and the "purl" stitch, too! ;)
