First week of summer vacation!! Although, in my head I had grand plans of being a couch potato that wasn't the case. For some reason, it's just not in me to sit around all day. I didn't make any progress on my modern maples quilt, those blocks are still laid out on the floor awaiting their turn.
Today I finished a project from forever ago (ok, forever as in 2 months ago). The pattern is really called, Road to ... Oh Damn the link to the pattern is included if you would like to see how it's done :) I didn't make any mistakes (that I know of!) This was all part of my de-scrap goal from April. After the Jelly Roll Race quilt, I pulled material for 2 more quilts, one is still just a flimsy finish. Here are some images of the top so far.

A little confession time: now I am up to 7 quilts that need to be basted, and 20 projects going on simultaneously! Guess we already know what my summer plans will include, getting these WIPs finished and/or under control! All these projects are making my head spin.
Sew long for now,
Patch & Chels
Love the name of the quilt, I'm going to have to follow the link and see if there is a great story behind the name! This summer is a quilting summer for me. I hope to get to go hiking/camping a few times, too, but no firm plans just yet.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from Yosemite for a week, or as we call it "no wi-fi land". We survived, but did have to go into civilization once...we all got too itchy being out of contact :) Nice quilt, you had me a Road to...Oh Damn!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt top. Great use for scraps. Good luck getting your projects under control.
ReplyDeleteIt's winter here! I am staying inside by the heater and sewing.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I too need to wrestle with the WIPs. The scrap box is tamed, but my stash and half-finished things ... Good luck with yours!
I love the sweet colors of this quilt, and the muted stars! Lots of plans for the summer...projects for school, a bunch of quilty plans, and a vacation too!
ReplyDeleteI am just the same as you... I have so many going on that I have stopped starting anything new... although my bucket list continues to grow. I have felt so overwhelmed lately with them, and now my Long Arm Class was delayed until July 3rd instead of June 29th! Ack! I intend to spend the summer finishing up all of these quilts that I have already cut into... no more cutting new fabric! (I may or may not be crossing my fingers behind my back)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, nice colours! I think it's safe to say you're not alone with build up. I know I have a quilt I started two years ago...I keep ditching it for hipper, younger quilts. Oops! This summer, I'm doing a paper pieced Harry Potter quilt for my sister. Maybe this winter too ;-)
ReplyDeleteI also am feeling overwhelmed with WIPs. I don't even know what to do next. A soon as the 4th weekend is over, I will start some quilting. Got to control myself not to start anything else. Hold my hands down, please.
ReplyDeleteWe started our two week winter holidays in Australia this week. I've lazed in bed as long as I could every morning and stayed in jammies til 11 most days haha. Hope you're enjoying some nice weather. It's very cold and windy and wet here!
