Penny Tiles

Second project start of the year has arrived! Last year Messy Jesse released her Penny Tiles pattern, and I loved every inch of it. I started pulling fabric with fat quarter bundle of Sweet Shoppe (below), it's an older line by Michele D'Amore. The pattern calls for twenty fat quarters, so I went to my stash for the others. It took a while but I found ten more that played nice together.

Left: Stash Fabric, Right: Sweet Shop

After cutting up these sweet fabrics, I made a couple blocks just to see how they looked. Still loving every inch of this pattern. I'm excited to watch them all come together.

  1. I love the tiny florals and spots of Sweet Shoppe. I did not know that range at all, but it is my cup of tea. Your additions are perfect, as always.

  4. Very nice! I like how the pattern uses a variety of block sizes... makes me itch to sit down and doodle some block designs. :)

  5. I fell in love with this pattern when I saw your pictures on Instagram. It seems conducive to all sorts of fabric genres, but I think it looks especially sweet with 30s fabrics. I need to make this quilt, too -- I just have no idea when that's going to happen!

  6. Ooh, nice fabric pull. I think your stash additions go very well with the Sweet Shop fabrics. I can see how this could be a very addictive quilt to make.
