Summer Slowdown

Ok, this summer I lost my sew mojo! My sewing machine misses me, this might be the longest it has gone without use. All projects have come to a halt and are exactly where I left them three weeks ago (yep, laid out on the floor). I have managed to restock some low volume fabrics and order a couple books.  Here is the haul ...

At the beginning of the year, I committed myself to a fabric de-stash/diet.  Over the past 7 months, I have been super good about not purchasing fabrics and using up things I already own, while minimizing my scraps.  This basket of goodies was the biggest splurge this year!  I love them all and cannot wait to start cutting into all of them!  Just after I finish up all my WIPs! I still have 17 to go by the end of summer.  Better find some energy!

  1. Hmm, a fabric diet...I think that is what I need to do (after having looked through some of my storage boxes and realising I had quite a few combos put aside that are waiting to be made into projects)!

  2. I am really tempted by the beautiful low volume bundles I keep seeing. Good luck finding your sewjo and energy. :)

  3. Those fabrics are gorgeous! Do you have a plan for them? I too have been trying only to buy fabric to complete a specific project, not just to add to my stash. I would have expected a more noticeable decline in my stash by now! Oh well!!

  4. Love the new stash addition. I really need to stock up on some low volumes soon. I particularly like the one with the violins and snails.

  5. So if I continue to be good on my fabric diet, after New Year I can splurge on lovely fabrics like these too?

  6. Love all of these low volumes! Do you know what the alphabet one is in the third photo? It's so cute!

I really need to go on a fabric diet but it's so hard :( at the very least I need to work on some super scrappy projects to get rid of my scraps!

  9. I'm experiencing the same halt in production this summer but I know that once it starts to get colder again I'll be right back at my sewing machine ready to go!

Love those low volumes together. Wouldn't they be pretty in a quilt all by themselves!

  10. Good luck on the WIPs!!! I've been trying so hard and I am only slowly making a dent. I am beginning to believe that this will be a "one summer to the next summer" de-WIP!!
